  1. I get it though. I think there’s something to this. I had briefly thought about putting together some memorials for people who are here right now, rather than waiting until they’re gone. Perhaps this could be similar?

I think it’s important to look at the idea of injuries because of economic fluctuations. Perhaps this level of research might actually provide a kind of insight we didn’t see with Sites of Apology/Hope. I think that project was crucial to understand where we collectively see those sites around the city, but understanding some of the economic transitions that maybe aren’t so apparent could be a great start to a project.

I’m not overly familiar with the imagery of the purple heart, so I’d like to hear more about that.

P.S. is that the orignal ecohouse?

  2. I remember you talking about that memorial idea. It’s definitely worth doing.

The Purple Heart Medal is awarded to soldiers of the U.S. military who have been wounded or killed in battle. Grim, I know.

Yes, you got me. That is the original ecohouse. I took that photo in the intersession Green Corridor class.

  3. I like the language around “purple hearts club” … wondering if there’s something we could localize a bit more somehow. You up for designing some badges / markers / plaques of some kind? Your parking tickets were pretty spot on, would you mind taking a stab at some other kinds of official looking designation?
