In order to keep things moving with Eric Boucher’s Micro-Residency project, I invited Eric to interview my oldest (in terms of age) friend Terry Marentette yesterday afternoon. I met Terry two years ago in an Art History class at the School of Visual Arts and was immediately astonished by his immense knowledge of Windsor’s past. Eric’s interview sparked some great conversation about Windsor during the Depression, the Ambassador Bridge and its effects on Windsor, the history of Walkerville, the amount of people who leave Windsor after school, etc. Overall, Eric and I were both pleased with the amount of Windsor-related information Terry provided. I am excited to see the footage!
Eric shot his interview in Terry’s library/living room. It was quite a busy space.
Eric set up his camera on the other end of the room and I worked as the sound recordist.
Eric then shot some b-roll of Terry’s living quarters. We had to increase the lighting in the room, but the space allowed Terry to be comfortable and relaxed.
Loved the footage we saw tonight, can’t wait to see more next week!
terry was my grade nine english teacher a long time ago. he retired soon after but i will always remember his unique approach and out of the box style, especially as a grade nine student at a catholic high school. quite an interesting character. i would love to see this footage some day.
on a side note….love the projection work being done. so impressed by the work being done by broken city.
